CaptionEdit offers a capable toolset for digitizing paper photographs, leveraging Google's PhotoScan technology to scan and straighten images. It allows users to add multi-line captions that are editable post-application, either from the device camera or photo library. The application also provides functionality to adjust aspect ratios, ensuring images display correctly across various platforms.

For those interested in preserving printed photos—whether in color or black and white—CaptionEdit facilitates the inclusion of relevant details such as who, when, and where, enhancing the contextual value of each image across different digital environments.

The editing capabilities extend to correcting captions if inaccuracies are discovered after initial entry, exemplified by the possibility to amend identifications such as mislabeling a relative.

The aspect ratio adjustment feature adds padding around the original image rather than cropping it, maintaining image integrity while ensuring compatibility with platform-specific display requirements that often truncate images of differing aspect ratios.

Images can be saved and shared with all their metadata intact in any album, matching the sharing capabilities of the original images. The software notably operates without displaying any advertisements.

For full access to all features, licensing options are available on a monthly or yearly subscription basis. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours prior to the billing cycle's end within Account Settings. The billing occurs within 24 hours following the conclusion of each billing period. Note that any unused portion of a 7-day free trial will be forfeited upon subscribing.
